I received Tea With Elephants compliments of Revell in exchange for my honest review.
Tea With Elephants is the one the latest fiction titles by Christian author Robin Jones Gunn and the first book in the Suitcase Sister Series.
This book is about two friends, Fern and Lily, who journey together to Africa for a vacation. Along the way they end up sharing hard things that they’ve been experiencing and begin to find direction as they begin healing from those things.
They also enjoy the beauty of Africa and although I’ve never been there, felt like I could picture what it looks like based on how well the author described it.
My first introduction to Robin Jones Gunn was through her Christy Miller series that I devoured as a teen. I’ve enjoyed many of her titles for women too. I appreciated that the characters were actually dealing with realistic challenges but also felt that book was a bit lengthy and could’ve been shorter. It is well written which I appreciate because Christian fiction often fails to miss in this area.
I’m grateful to have received this book as a review copy but don’t necessarily see myself being invested in the whole series. If you’re looking for a light fiction read, I think you will enjoy Tea With Elephants.
