Seek and Find: The First Christmas is the latest in the Seek and Find series by The Good Book Company. This book is like a biblical version of Where’s Waldo and it takes young readers through the account of Jesus’ birth. I really enjoy the Seek and Find books because they are a unique means of presenting Scripture to young readers. On each page of the book there are Scripture passages detailing a portion of the events leading up to and including Jesus’s birth.
The illustrations are vibrant, engaging, and fun. I like that each page contains a small thumbnail image of what children will need to look for on each page rather than only a text description. Since the book includes these small pictures, children who aren’t yet reading will still be able to enjoy the book. A fun companion to the book is the activity book which includes coloring pages, mazes, and even Scripture passages! This would be a great gift idea or even just a fun resource to use in the days leading up to Christmas. My family has really enjoyed both of these resources and we look forward to reading (and coloring) more in the Seek and Find series!
