Ummmm. . .because it’s Friday, that’s why! Okay well it’s Friday AND it’s summertime. It’s an unspoken fact of life that anything goes on Friday, especially if it’s summer. Yes, I did have relaxing music streaming from the iPad while I took a bubble bath with Aruba Coconut Shower Gel by Bath and Body Works. And yes, I did finish the can of Planter’s Nut-rition trail mix (it was just one handful) and I did eat a cup full of Cool Whip and Blue Raspberry Jell-O. I’ve also been reading Emily’s Quest by Lucy Maud Montgomery, the author of the Anne of Green Gables series since I left my copy of Gone With the Wind at work. I’m glad that it’s summer and that I have so much to be grateful for. This morning I received a text message from a co-worked stating that one of our second grade girls’ mom passed away this week. While we are unsure of the circumstances surrounding her shocking death, we are grieved for the family, especially the little girl who loved her mommy dearly. If you read this please pray for this family. I have found comfort in Job 1:21 and James 4: 13-15. It is deaths of those I know that force me to think about those whom I love and to cherish them knowing that they will not be in my life forever. I also feel more greatly the urge to share the Gospel with and pray for those who don’t know Christ because we don’t know when lives will end, but God does and He is all powerful and sovereign. Let’s rejoice in the blessing of today and the opportunity that we have to share Christ with others and be grateful that He has given us one more day on earth (although we know that to be with Him would be greater).
