Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I’m happy to announce that I’m on top of things this year. Since the birth of our first daughter, I’ve neglected to ensure our moms receive even cards in a timely manner. Personally, I couldn’t care less about Hallmark holidays but my husband insists on celebrating and I won’t pass up the opportunity to be spoiled! Because it takes a village to raise a child, I’ve curated a gift guide for moms in all seasons – waiting, fostering, and expecting. I firmly believe that God created all women to be nurturers. With that consideration, most of these gifts would be practical and encouraging for women in any season.
Floral Stainless Steel Coffee Tumbler
Is anyone else tired of drinking their coffee “mom style” – where you never finish a cup and when you do, you’ve reheated it multiple times? I would love one of these to keep my coffee hot (or cold in the summer). I’m a sucker for a product that’s beautiful and functional.
Strength for Today, Bright Hope for Tomorrow Mug
I learned about Fancy That Design House & Co. after purchasing a Trader Joe’s card featuring their Book Stack/Book Lover Art Print. This mug is just one of the many items for sale that would make a great gift. I love that the mug features lyrics from the song, Great is Thy Faithfulness and serves as a pretty reminder that there are new mercies every morning.
Waiting Mama Coffee Mug
If you follow Chip Gaines on Instagram, you probably remember when this post about a mug went viral. The post featured a mug designed by Kenzi Reddick, founder of Swallows Grace. After experiencing multiple miscarriages, Kenzi and her husband decided to pursue adoption. Her story is heart-wrenching but so encouraging and through her business, she seeks to give other mamas hope. Kenzi has created mugs that are pretty and provide encouragement for women in various seasons of motherhood.
Mama Mug
I’m a bit partial to this mug in part because I designed it! The hand-lettered font and the pink heart are simple elements that make this mug the perfect gift for any mama. A personalized mug also means, hopefully, that your husband won’t try to take it!
Truth Cards
Motherhood has
By Wisdom A House Is Built Sign
This cute, farmhouse style sign is one of the many items sold by Imperfect Dust that would make a great Mother’s Day gift. I own the It Is Well With My Soul hymn board and I can’t wait to purchase the sign pictured and hang it above my bed!
Gracelaced Proverbs 31 Journals
Ruth Chou Simons has gained quite the following on Instagram with her work that is inspirational both artistically and spiritually. Some of her designs are now available on products sold by DaySpring including
Trust in the Lord Tea Towels
These tea towels are simple, beautiful, and encouraging. I love having these on display over my oven door. At two for $12.99, these are priced just right. You can keep one for yourself and give one away to your mom or your best mom friend.
Christ in the Chaos
This book is one of the most honest and most encouraging that I’ve read on the topic of motherhood. I didn’t know much about the author,
Grumpy Mom Takes A Holiday
I just purchased this book and couldn’t wait to dive in! In Grumpy Mom Takes A Holiday, author and fellow Mom, Val Woerner encourages moms to find joy in motherhood. Using Romans 12 as a starting point, Val challenges moms to conform their thinking to God’s standards for motherhood rather than the world’s. I’ve only read the intro and I’ve already been greatly encouraged to mother for God’s glory.
Longing for Motherhood
Longing for Motherhood is a book that provides Biblical hope for women who desire to be mothers. This book by Chelsea Patterson Sobolik points women to the hope they have in Jesus as they endure circumstances including infertility, barrenness, and miscarriage. Chelsea walks alongside readers as she shares her experiences with childlessness and how she was comforted with the love of Christ during those times. This book would be a great gift for any woman longing for motherhood and is a great asset to the church at large. Other helpful titles are The Unseen Companion, written to encourage single moms and Spiritual Mothering, written to encourage women in the church to minister to one another using the model established in Titus 2.
Risen Motherhood
Risen Motherhood shares its title with the podcast of the same name. The book, like the podcast, is about connecting faith to various areas of motherhood. Risen Motherhood is available now for preorder and releases officially in September.
Mama Necklace
I first saw this necklace on an Instagram ad and it’s been on my Want List ever since. I love the simple look of this necklace and that purchases made from 31 Bits support other women by providing them with dignified jobs. The necklaces in the Dot collection would also make great gifts!
Fujifilm Instax Mini 9
Since learning how to use my DSLR, I’ve become somewhat of a camera aficionado. I have a few vintage cameras on display and I really enjoying preserving memories with my daughters by taking pictures of them. This is a fun way to capture memories and have them available to display without having to go through the extra work of remembering to get them printed.
Oak Letter Board
It seems that letter boards have been taking over Instagram and have increased in popularity. This letter board includes 580 characters as well as a stand for displaying it. I own the same letter board and love using it. At only $15.99 this is a steal compared to the $65 version from Letterfolk and it looks completely identical.
Fitbit Charge 2
I bought my Fitbit for accountability when it comes to exercising. At first, I was skeptical about fitness watches but I have found mine to be very helpful. In addition to tracking my physical activity, the Fitbit app also allows me to keep a food diary by entering or scanning in what I eat and it tracks my period too!
Having limited funds doesn’t mean that you have to be excluded from blessing your mom! These fun finds are budget-friendly and can be combined with a lovely 99 cent card from Trader Joe’s and one of their bouquets that are just under $5.
Mason Jar Candle
These candles are so fun and I love that they come in a mini Mason jar. If you search for these in store at Dollar Tree you can typically find a variety of scents.
Weathered Photo Frame
These shabby chic style frames are adorable and would make a great gift individually or as a set. If your budget is extra tight, you can flip over the paper insert and use the white side to create a custom
Bolero Beverly Hills Bath Salts
Bolero Beverly Hills sounds fancy, but it really isn’t. However, I do enjoy this line of bath products from Dollar Tree. On my last trip to the store, I stocked up on these bath salts because they smell great. These along with the other products in the line would be a fun addition to a spa themed basket.
Photo Album
I am stoked to have found these cute 4 x 6 photo albums. At only $1, I stocked up on some of the patterns I found to be the most aesthetically appealing. I’m typically cautious of certain items sold at Dollar Tree because they can be cheap in quality but these albums seem sturdy. I was able to purchase 4 x 6 prints from Walmart photo for only 9 cents a print and the shipping was very affordable! I am very pleased with the quality of the service and the photos and I’m excited to order more prints in the future!
