I received Little Me, Big God: Stories About Jesus compliments of The Good Book Company in exchange for my honest review.
Little Me, Big God: Stories About Jesus is a lovely collection of 8 of the 10 books in the Little Me, Big God series. The stories included in this book are:
- The House that Went Splat (Luke 6)
- The Boy Who Shared His Sandwich (Luke 9)
- The Best Thing to Do (Luke 10)
- How Can I Pray? (Luke 11)
- The Dad Who Never Gave Up (Luke 15)
- Never Too Little (Luke 18)
- The Man Who Would Not Be Quiet (Luke 18)
- The Easter Fix (Luke 22 – 24)
(Not included are The Christmas Surprise and The Little Man Whose Heart Grew Big which makes me wonder if subsequent titles in this series will be released and perhaps a second hardback volume of stories will be published.)
The stories are paraphrases of Bible stories and use vibrant illustrations to attract the attention of young readers.
My children received many of the individual Little Me, Big God books as a gift a few years ago so the stories are familiar to them and they enjoy them. My five year old who often seems disinterested in our family Bible reading time loves this hardback collection of stories and has asked me to read it repeatedly. I’m so grateful for this lovely collection and enjoyed seeing her become excited about knowing the Bible.
Each story concludes with notes for grown ups to give the full context of each story and the Biblical text printed out for each story from the NIV Bible. These notes inform readers where they can find the stories in Scripture and give a brief overview of each story. Little Me, Big God: Stories About Jesus includes glossy pages and a ribbon bookmark making it a lovely resource for young ones.
