Keeping the Faith is the first Bible study by blogger and author Lianna Davis. This study is 6 weeks long and takes readers through the book of Jude. The format of Keeping the Faith is similar to that of other women’s Bible studies by Moody Publishers. Each week includes 5 daily studies that begin with Scripture from Jude as well as cross-references to similar Bible verses. Following this is a brief prayer and a devotional type text that helps readers dig deeper into the book of Jude. Each daily study concludes with questions for study and reflection. I liked that many of the questions involve looking up additional Bible verses to explore more of what the Bible has to say about concepts mentioned in Jude. I also really enjoyed reading the cross references for each study.
Rather than just taking readers quickly through the short book of Jude, Lianna helps readers break down some of the concepts mentioned in Jude’s letter. I am thankful that Keeping the Faith explores these concepts because many of them are probably not well understood such as the concept of antinomianism (lawlessness). While I had read Jude before, I found myself learning so much as the result of this study. Keeping the Faith reminded me of my need to treasure the true gospel message and Jesus Christ Himself.
Overall, I really enjoyed this Bible study and was really excited to learn that although the book of Jude is short, it is very rich and contains implications for how Christians ought to live in this present age.
I received Keeping the Faith compliments of Moody Publishers in exchange for my honest review.
