I received the products mentioned compliments of Influenster for testing purposes.
When I learned that I would be receiving the Influenster Autumn Essentials Vox Box, I was very grateful. I saw that the box included a bottle of witch hazel, which I use daily as part of my skincare routine, and a few other products to sample. While most of the products I received won’t become regular purchases, I’m thankful for the opportunity to have tried them.
Advil Multisymptom Cold & Flu
Advil Multi-Symptom Cold & Flu is a helpful option for those experiencing allergies. Unlike traditional Advil, this medicine includes an antihistamine. I used it to help end the sneezing and congestion that accompany my seasonal allergies and found it to be helpful. With mild health issues, I generally try to implement more natural approaches before turning to modern medicine and since I don’t deal with allergies too often, I probably won’t be purchasing this product regularly. However, it is nice to know that there will be another option on store aisles for those times I do need a product with an antihistamine.
Butterfinger
The Butterfinger sample I was sent included a label stating that the product is gluten-free and contains no artificial colors or flavors. To me, this is deceptive advertising because it’s exactly the same candy that’s been available for years. The only update this product has received is the packaging. When I first showed it to my husband, we both thought this was a newer version. After viewing the product on Amazon, however, it appears that nothing about it has actually changed. I do enjoy chocolate on occasion but I prefer to indulge in chocolate that is free of unnecessary, unhealthy ingredients like TBHQ, corn syrup, and soybean oil. I also prefer to purchase Fair Trade chocolate when possible and while the Butterfinger website does state that some ingredients are globally sourced, it gives no further information regarding how and where. I’m thankful to have received this sample but I won’t be purchasing this product anytime soon.
Humphrey’s Recharge Witch Hazel + Grapefruit Alcohol-Free Toner
This is a product I will very likely include in my regular skincare routine. I don’t necessarily enjoy the scent of plain witch hazel – it always reminds me of being postpartum and that’s not necessarily a season I want to recall daily. In addition to witch hazel, I’ve also used apple cider vinegar as a toner. It does seem to make my skin clearer and softer but my husband can’t stand the smell and I don’t blame him.
Humphrey’s has presented an option that makes us both happy. I love the light grapefruit scent and since the product includes aloe, it makes my skin so soft and clear! I also love the blue color of the product and the beautiful packaging. The wood looking lid with the H and Humphrey’s logo branded on top is a nice touch. Considering what I typically pay for skincare products, this is a bit on the higher side but seeing as a bottle should last a while, I find it a worthy investment.
