God’s Daring Dozen Box Set 3 contains four new titles in the God’s Daring Dozen series by Christian Focus Publications. This series of picture books teaches children about the minor prophets. This set contains books about Zechariah, Amos, Hosea, and Micah.
The first book in God’s Daring Dozen Box Set 3 is Zechariah’s Encouragement. This book is a lovely paraphrase of the book of Zechariah. It teaches children about Zechariah’s eight visions and how they find their culmination in Christ. I love that the book concludes with the gospel message.
The second book in this set is Amos & God’s Roaring Voice. This book does a wonderful job of retelling the book of Amos in a way that is easy for young readers to understand. I had just completed reading the book of Amos in my chronological Bible when I read it and it does an excellent job of communicating God’s mercy. This title also points little ones to Jesus and the hope of the gospel.
The third book in this set is Hosea & God’s Love. This book paraphrases the story of Hosea and how he loved his unfaithful wife, Gomer, as a way of reflecting God’s love for His people. It is tastefully written and helps children understand God’s love and forgiveness found in Jesus.
The fourth title in God’s Daring Dozen Box Set 3 is Micah’s Hope. This book teaches little ones about how Micah’s prophecy was fulfilled in Jesus and how God cares more about His people’s hearts offering true worship rather than performing external acts to earn His favor.
This was my first experience reading any of the books in the God’s Daring Dozen series and I love how each book communicates the gospel message with simplicity. The illustrations are lovely and although this series is for children, I believe it is helpful for adult readers too! We’re enjoying God’s Daring Dozen Box Set 3 and look forward to reading the entire series!
