If you’ve been following this blog for some time, you know I’m all about finding creative ways to do pretty much everything on a budget. When my husband and I were first married, we didn’t have much extra money to go toward anything fun yet I still wanted to have some sort of decor on display for each season. One of my favorite places to get great deals on decor and craft items is Dollar Tree. I’ve been amazed at what I’ve been able to find there for a fraction of the cost of traditional home goods and craft stores. One of my favorites aspects of Dollar Tree is the versatility of the products they provide. I’ve purchased a few craft items that I’ve been able to use for multiple projects so with Dollar Tree I really do get the most bang for my buck!

Growing up, my sisters and I enjoyed dressing up for Halloween each year, picking out pumpkins from the local farmer’s market, and of course, trick or treating. Although Halloween isn’t as popular as Thanksgiving and Christmas, I was surprised when looking through childhood photos to see how many I actually have from Halloween celebrations over the years. It was fun to look back and see what costumes my sisters and I selected and now as a mom, it was sweet to look back over the photos we took of our daughter’s first trip to the pumpkin patch last year.

Today, I’m excited to share with you an easy and affordable project I made recently to display these fun photos.

Items needed:

Step 1) Fold tissue paper in half lengthwise

Step 2) Fold tissue paper in half widthwise (do this twice)

Step 8) Secure one end of the twine to a wall with a thumb tack, string your tassels on the twine, secure the other end, hang your favorite Halloween photos with clothespins and enjoy!

I absolutely love our family photo from last year’s trip to the pumpkin patch (this photo was probably the only redeeming part of the experience). I can’t wait to take our daughter to the pumpkin patch this year now that she’s older and I will definitely have my camera on hand so we can display more Halloween memories.
