A Wonderful Surprise is the latest book in the Bible Verses to Remember series by Sally Michael. This is the first book I’ve read in the series and I love it! This book tells of Jesus’ entry to Jerusalem, His death on the cross, and His resurrection. It communicates the gospel message simply so little readers can understand it.
This series is unique because it teaches readers to memorize Scripture. The verse repeated in this book is Luke 19:38. The book’s illustrations are captivating making this a book children will want to read repeatedly. There is helpful content at the end of the book including questions for discussion, tips for helping children memorize Scripture, and resources for parents on how to teach the Bible to young children. As a parent and former Sunday School teacher, I find A Wonderful Surprise to be an incredibly helpful teaching tool and I eagerly anticipate reading the rest of the books in this series!
