I received the products mentioned compliments of Influenster and Dove for testing purposes.

When Influenster sent me the Dove 0% Aluminum VoxBox, I was excited to test out the new products in the Dove 0% line. I was sent two deodorants including the Dove 0% Deodorant Spray in Cotton Flower & Sandalwood and the Dove 0% Deodorant Stick in Cotton Flower & Sandalwood. I use the EWG Skindeep Database tool to help me understand what is in the products I put on my body. I looked up the Dove 0% Aluminum deodorants and their ratings are between 4-5 (with 1 being the best and 10 being the worst).
I appreciate that Dove has considered that its consumers may want deodorants sans aluminum especially since there may be a link between breast cancer and aluminum. Cancer runs in my family, so I prefer to use deodorant without aluminum in it.
Both deodorant products smell nice although the scent was a bit strong for my preference. If I had to choose between the two, my selection would be the stick deodorant. I generally avoid spray beauty products because of the ingredients and the Dove 0% Aluminum Deodorant Spray is no exception. The first ingredient listed is alcohol denat which some dermatologists encourage consumers to avoid as it has adverse effects on the skin including dryness and possible redness and sensitivity.
While I’m grateful to see more aluminum free beauty products on the market and grateful to have sampled the Dove deodorants, I’ll continue using the aluminum free deodorant I already have because I am more familiar with the ingredients and it ranks slightly lower on the EWG Skin Deep Database scale.
