The Biggest Story Bible Storybook is the latest children’s book by pastor, author, and father Kevin DeYoung. My children have enjoyed the various resources in The Biggest Story collection including the book, free audiobook, and movie so we were excited when we learned about the storybook Bible being released. The colorful, compelling illustrations captivate my children’s attention and I’ve found myself enjoying them too. The stories are organized according to the literary genres of the Bible which I am grateful for because it trains my children to view the Bible literarily.
Each story’s length is perfect for holding my kids’ attention and powerful in that they point to Jesus. The story content is really helpful in that it takes complex theological concepts and presents them in a way that is easy for young readers to understand. As a parent, I sometimes struggle with knowing how to explain certain concepts to my kids in an age-appropriate way, and this children’s Bible helps eliminate that struggle. This has led to my oldest child asking theological questions that took me by surprise and I’m grateful that it has served as a springboard for deeper discussions. Although the target audience for this resource is young children, I’ve found myself encouraged as I’ve read and I’m grateful for the way it is familiarizing my children with the storyline of Scripture early on in their lives. If you are looking for a storybook Bible for children who are just out of the preschool age group, I highly recommend The Biggest Story Bible Storybook.
I received The Biggest Story Bible Storybook compliments of Crossway in exchange for my honest review.
