God’s grace is sufficient for me and His power truly is made perfect in my weaknesses. Days like this make my heart full as they provide that much needed reminder. As divine circumstances have allowed, my husband is home today and possibly tomorrow. His company has a policy that every work related injury, no matter how small, must be documented. A part of his job is construction and as he was crawling around in an attic yesterday, he tweaked a part of back. Whether he pulled a muscle or something else, we’re not sure yet. Since it happened on the job, he was required to take a drug test and can’t return to work until the lab processes the results which takes about 48 hours. He was kind of frustrated since he wasn’t able to go into work, but being the faithful provider he is, he set out to accomplish some things while he was at home.
I couldn’t have been more happy about this turn of events and have been praising God for the help. Yes, his next pay check won’t have as many dollars but I’m not worried about that at all. God has faithfully provided all we need and then some in this life and I know He will continue to show His faithfulness to us. Yesterday I wasn’t feeling well and Addie decided that 3:30 in the morning would be a good time to wake up for breakfast. Even when I can nurse her and go back to sleep, the early mornings throw off the rest of the day and leave my brain in a fog. The battle between the spirit and my flesh reached it’s maximum yesterday as I was simply exhausted. I begged God to send me help in any form – knowing that I already have His Holy Spirit who is my helper gave my heart great comfort. I’m thankful that although the weather is gloomy, my heart needs not be because it serves as a great reminder that His grace like rain is pouring down on me in ways unexpected.
Like many times prior, today has not turned out as planned, it’s turned out way better! Thanks be to God for His faithfulness to provide help in a time of need and to cause my heart to continue trusting Him as our provider.
“I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!”
