Cool Creek Park

The 90-acre Cool Creek Park in Westfield is one of the area’s most popular parks. Along with a nature center, music pavilion, picnic area, playground, basketball courts, and soccer fields, the park also offers 4 miles of nature trails. You’ll find everything from paved trails that accommodate hikers and bicyclists to wooded nature paths. You can start on either the mile-long Beech Trail or the 1.5-mile Tulip Trail to connect to some of the dirt pathways that are deeper in the park.
White River Greenway Trail
The White River Greenway Trailis the perfect way to check out historic Noblesville, enjoy some of the area’s popular parks, and see lovely views of the White River. The paved trail starts in Historic Noblesville Square before heading north along the White River. It’s just over 3 miles in length and open to hikers and bicyclists. One of the highlights of the trail is Potter’s Bridge Park, which is home to the county’s only remaining covered bridge.
Morse Reservoir Loop
Partially located in Morse Park and Beach, the Morse Reservoir Loop is a 9.3-mile trail that’s ideal for hiking and biking. You can pick up the paved trail in the park before taking it on a meandering journey around the reservoir and through the surrounding subdivisions. If you work up a sweat during your hike, head back to the park to go for a swim at the sandy beach. The park also offers an 18-hole disc golf course, fishing, volleyball court, and picnic areas.
Monon Trail
The popular Monon Trail is a rail trail that stretches from Westfield to downtown Indianapolis. The paved path is over 25 miles in length and open to hikers and bicyclists. Since the Monon Trail takes you through several communities in the area, it’s an excellent choice for checking out more of the shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Plus, because it was built over an old railroad track, it’s mostly flat and easy for beginners and children. Flat Fork Creek Park
Located in Fishers, Flat Fork Creek Park is the ideal destination for nature lovers. The 60-acre park offers 5 miles of hiking trails that wind around ponds and forests. Bring the kids along so they can explore the boardwalks and play in the kid-friendly tree houses, one of which is completely ADA accessible. Mountain bikers will also want to check out the 1.5-mile single track and progressive trail.
