Jesus Moments: Moses is the latest title in the Jesus Moments series by The Good Book Company. This helpful book teaches little ones about biblical typography in Moses’s story. In this book, children look for bulrushes throughout to identify Jesus Moments. A Jesus Moment, the book explains, is, “. . . when someone or something in the story is a little bit like Jesus.”
This book teaches children how God provided for His people during Moses’s lifetime with freedom, food, and ultimately, Himself. While many children’s books and Bibles focus primarily on the Exodus when considering Moses, this book does that and more. Seeing the inclusion of the account of the bronze serpent from Numbers 21 in the book excited me as it’s a particularly important Jesus Moment in the Bible.
As my husband read this book out loud to our kids, my five year old was captivated by looking for the bulrushes, and having something to do while she was being read to led to her paying attention. While Jesus Moments: Moses is a children’s book, I’ve been blessed by it as an adult and even made some new whole Bible connections! I appreciate, too, how the book emphasizes God’s character. We love the Jesus Moments books and can’t wait to read the forthcoming titles in this series!
