I received Unwrapping the Names of Jesus for Kids compliments of Moody Publishers in exchange for my honest review.
Unwrapping the Names of Jesus for Kids is a picture book by Asheritah Ciuciu. It is an adaptation for children based on Asheritah’s book Unwrapping the Names of Jesus. This book is a fictionalized account of Jesus’ encounter with children (Mark 10:14) from the perspective of a woman who is now grown and has children. Mama, the main character, details to her children what it was like to follow Jesus and observe His ministry.
The stories Mama tells her children are based on biblical accounts of Jesus’ life and miracles. This is a lovely children’s book that includes a name of Jesus with each illustration accompanied by a Scripture reference for that name’s origin. The book concludes with questions for kids to answer about what they learned while reading. Although the adult version, Unwrapping the Names of Jesus, is an Advent devotional, Unwrapping the Names of Jesus could be used for both Advent and Easter. This book is a wonderful addition to a home library and would be great as a gift too!
