Amy Carmichael: The Brown-Eyed Girl Who Loved to Pray is the latest children’s book by author and podcast host Hunter Beless. It is also one of the latest releases in the Do Great Things for God series by The Good Book Company. The book helps young readers learn about the life of Amy who became a missionary to people in Japan and India.
Amy had a heart for welcoming those who were often deemed unlovable by society and it led to her opening a meeting hall she named The Welcome. It became a place for poor people to meet and worship God. Since the building for The Welcome was an answer to prayer, Amy continued to pray and recorded the answers to her prayers in a book that she called her “Ask and Receive” book.
I love how this book tells the story of Amy’s life in a manner that is easy for young readers to understand. Amy lived a life of conviction which led to her doing great things for God. Learning about her life was truly inspirational. My oldest daughter loves this book and I’ve enjoyed reading it with her and we can’t wait to read more in this series.
I received Amy Carmichael compliments of The Good Book Company in exchange for my honest review.
